Springville Museum Quilt Show

This year marks the 40th annual Quilt Show at the Springville Museum of Art.  The show ends on Sept 4th, so there is still time to see these wonderful quilts.  For a full list of the entrants and the winners, go to: http://www.smofa.org  There will also be trunk shows on August 14th and 16th.  Here are a few pictures of what you will see this year.  These pictures were taken before the show officially opened, so there were no names or descriptions on any of them.  It was kind of fun to see if we could guess the quiltmaker, but I don't think we got many right.

Quilt Fest 2013 update

Happy July 1st!  The way this summer is flying by, Oct. will be here before we know it!  As of a few minutes ago, there are 12 classes that are full or have a wait-list.  On-line registration is so easy!  Just remember to log in if you are a UQG member in order to get the discounted rates for classes.

Classes with our National Teachers are filling up fast.  Elly Sienkiewicz has a few seats left, Kim Diehl and Anita Grossman Solomon have a few openings left for their Sat. classes.

Is your quilt show entry finished or almost finished?  We can't have a quilt show without quilts!  Worried about having your quilt judged?  If you have taken it to your guild meeting for show and tell, it has already been judged by your peers.  Judges are also your peers and as such, know that you, actually, are your toughest critic.  Knowing what you have done really well boosts your confidence and knowing what you may not have done quite as well allows you to improve your skills.  That is what I have learned by entering quilts and also by judging quilts.    So, with that said, get those quilts ready for the show!
