The Utah Quilt Guild has been busy making small quilts for our police officers cars. There has been an overwhelming response from all the areas in our state!! Way to get the word out and quilts in....kudos to all of our area reps. and chapters! Here is a link to one of the presentations in Holladay, UT. http://www.cottonwoodholladayjournal.com/pages/full_story/15742/Local-quilters-put-a-little-homemade-comfort-into-every-emergency-vehicle/ Everyone needs to know that someone cares during an emergency and these little quilts will help provide some of that need.

Quilt Fest 2013 starts in three weeks! The Board held their final meeting today at the Zermott Resort in Midway and the day was gorgeous! Hope you will join us for this fun event which begins on Oct. 8th. There is still time to register for classes, so check the UQG website's class listing for what is available. Don't want to take a class? Come spend a day with us, see a great quilt show, shop at the vendors mall, pick out a mini quilt or pink quilt you would like to win, and just enjoy being with fellow quilters. Hope to see you there!
This is just the cutest quilt! Each person on the UQG Board made a Gingerbread Man/Girl block to put into a quilt for the Holiday Quilt Show & Auction. The blocks are all different and very creative!

Still playing catch up with posts and updates. We had a meeting at This Is The Place last month and what a treat! All of the quilts are displayed in cases with a few hanging or on a bed, and there is a gorgeous display of antique lace as well. The UQG library has been organized and inventoried and is also now at the museum. A lot of hard work went into this endeavor and it is beautiful. Wendy sent me this photo to show just a little of what was going on.....Many thanks to all who helped.

Quilt Fest!!! (My apologies for lack of posts...sick computer) That just doesn't seem possible! The next time you see one of your UQG or Quilt Fest board members, thank them for making this fun event a reality. There is so much planning and preparation that goes into an event like this, not to mention the bumps and detours along the way. But, thanks to everyone working behind the scenes things are coming together to make this "Sew Lovely". There is still time to register for classes and the noon lectures and you have until the 16th to make changes. Fun surprises are in store for all attendees, so plan to come, have fun, see a great quilt show, and of course, visit the vendors mall. Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes! If you haven't been to Midway or the Zermott, October is a beautiful time to visit. Hope to see you all there!
